Check out my article in Outdoors Unlimited (“Beyond the Icons: Finding a Fresh Story at Arches National Park”) and my essay on FloridaHikes.com (“Trail to the Past”)

I was thrilled to recently have published two different pieces of outdoor writing, one creative and one an outdoor travel article.

The latest Fall 2026 issue of Outdoors Unlimited includes my article titled “Beyond the Icons: Finding a Fresh Story at Arches National Park,” a travel article about my favorite trail to hike in Arches National Park in Utah, the other worldly Fiery Furnace. Outdoors Unlimited is the official publication of the Outdoor Writers Association of America.

Also, my essay titled “Trail to the Past” was published on FloridaHikes.com, a favorite website of mine that provides bar none the best guidance for Florida hikers and backpackers on the internet. “Trail to the Past” is a reprint of an essay published earlier this year in Intervals and describes my dreamy journey back in time through local history during a hike last winter in the Little Big Econ State Forest. Although Sandra Friend and her team at FloridaHikes generally publish more informative articles about places to hike and backpacking in Florida, this is now the fourth of my essays they’ve published on FloridaHikes.com.

Thank you, Sandra and OWA!
