If you’ve checked back recently on my website (https://RobRogersWriter.com) or my blog (https://backpackingdeskjockey.blog), you may have noticed some changes to their home pages and menus, which I’m hoping will improve both sites. Tops on the list is the cover art for the blog, thanks to a good friend in Pennsylvania.
My blog’s new cover art is a painting by Robert Gorby. Bobby is a longtime friend of my wife and I, and in my pathetically secular little suburban world, he’s also the only artist and painter I know. Bobby lives and paints in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and his work has been exhibited at galleries in Pennsylvania, California, and Florida. My wife commissioned his painting as a gift for my 50th birthday, and it’s now proudly on display in my living room.
Bobby primarily paints landscapes and portraits, and if you’re interested in his work, or perhaps commissioning him to create a masterpiece for you, you can find out more about him at his website here.
Other Changes to My Website and Blog
I’ve now also improved the pages of my website and blog listing my essays and articles, in response to the good fortune I’ve had in having more literary journals publish my work. I’ve now split my former “Publications” page into separate pages for Essays (Creative Writing) and Articles (Journalism). I’ve also made my essays easier to browse by adding brief descriptions of each published work. And as before, links to each essay and article are provided in the names of the pieces.

I’ve also now finally added a search bar to my sites, which should make it easier to find out more information about the trails, campsites, and countries I’ve written about. I’ve also tidied up and reorganized my menus.

Hopefully these changes will make both sites more accessible.
